The mission of Hastings Highland Park Arboretum is to provide an educational and enjoyable outdoor venue for youth and adults to visibly learn about climatically adapted trees and gardens. Demonstration gardens, informational presentations and tours are provided for the public.
The 
arboretum offers residents and visitors the chance to explore a diverse collection of trees, shrubs, native grasses, and flowers that are marked and identified to promote plant knowledge and appreciation. This living landscape serves as an outdoor classroom where people of all ages can learn about horticulture, sustainable landscaping, and local ecology through educational programs and interpretive signage. Beyond education, by providing walking paths and a pavilion, the arboretum enhances community well-being by providing a peaceful setting for walking, reflection, and recreation, contributing to Hastings’ quality of life through natural beauty, environmental stewardship, and opportunities for community gathering and engagement.
