Moms of Hastings

Rebranded in 2019, Moms of Hastings is a free support group for mothers with children of all ages! Our mission is to offer joy, encouragement, support, and love to the mothers of Hastings and surrounding communities. Currently, all participants are mothers with young children. Free babysitting is available during meetings.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month during the school year and have monthly playdates in the summer.

During our meetings, we discuss joys and concerns, have a short devotion, sometimes listen to a speaker, do a craft, or work on a service project. Crafts in 2025-2026 have included mixing homemade vanilla extract, making hot cocoa bombs, and painting welcome mats. Participants have a significant say in the programming.

Having a robust group for mothers benefits families in Hastings and Adams County by reducing the isolation and anxiety mothers often feel, providing a conduit for parenting and health education, and boosting community ties. For participants’ children, the group provides social interaction opportunities during the school year and summer. 

Since 2023, the group has met in-person at the YWCA Adams County. YWCA Adams County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
