CASA - National Adoption Day

National Adoption Day is a collective national effort to raise awareness of the more than 100,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families. A coalition of national partners - Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, The Alliance for Children's Rights and Children's Action Network - sponsor National Adoption Day.

Locally, the 10th Judicail District Adoption Day Committee supplies the courts with a backpack filled with community supported gifts to each child on the day the are adopted. The backpacks, which are provided by Jockey, are then filled with gift certificates and items from community businesses that show support to these families and their wonderful decision to adopt an abused or neglected child into their loving family.
