Brooks's Bookshelf was created in celebration of my wonderful son, Brooks, who is 7 and has Down syndrome & Autism.

Our bookshelves share the joy of reading and also spread awareness of Down Syndrome and other uniqueness's. Located throughout our community, each bookshelf includes books of all interest with specific books focused on kindness, compassion, special needs, diversity, and understanding individuals with unique differences. Books range from picture/baby up to early readers.  We have 29 bookshelf locations in Hastings, and our surrounding communities.  Brooks's Bookshelf was started on Brooks's 1st birthday in 2019!

Your generosity ensures that the youngest members of our community continue to have access to books that inspire a lifelong love of reading. Funds are used to purchase books and the bookshelves themselves, as each of our locations we supply everything for them at $0 cost. Bookshelves are continually filled as children take the books home to enjoy!

Every story and every person is unique and beautiful.
Children are welcome to take a book home in celebration of those differences. Guess what!? You can keep it or share it with a friend!
