Special Children's Fund
About the Organization
Special Children's Fund promotes health in children by preventing delays or omission of health care for children due to the lack of funds/insurance coverage. We look to decrease financial stress and promote family unity by assisting families so they can be next to their children during times of need. SCF helps families by providing financial assistance for costs that may not be covered by insurance or other sources. Examples of these types of things the SCF assists with include expensive specialized formula, and gas money to/from doctor's appointments for families away from home. Transport packets (which may include quarters, gift cards for food, toothbrushes, hygiene products, paper, pens, etc) are given to families when they are sent in an emergency to Omaha or another hospital. The SCF has helped hundreds of families since the early 1990s. This program has had a major impact on families and children in a medical crisis and helped alleviate some of the financial worries due to the medical issues they may be facing.
