Training Door Being UsedWhen a door stands between life and death, seconds matter.

Every emergency response begins with one critical task—getting in.

At Hastings Fire & Rescue, that responsibility belongs to a team of 34 sworn firefighters serving a community of roughly 25,000 residents. But our role goes far beyond fighting fires.

We are an all-hazards department, which means we respond to whatever emergency comes our way- structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle extrications, confined space incidents, hazardous environments, and more. On any given day, our crews may go from providing lifesaving medical care to cutting someone out a wrecked vehicle, to navigating dangerous conditions to reach someone trapped inside a structure.

Every one of our firefighters is trained across these disciplines, because when you call, you don't get to choose the emergency - and neither do we.

That's why we train for the moments that matter most. Because hesitation isn't an option.

We want our firefighters t be prepared to operate across a full spectrum of emergency situations, developing the skill and confidence needed to act decisively under pressure. But critical skills, like forcible entry, demand ongoing, hands-on training to remain effective when it matters most.

Because nearly every emergency starts with a barrier.

A locked door.

A reinforced entry.

A moment where access is delayed - and someone inside is counting on us.

That's why this Give Hastings Day, we're asking for your help to raise $4,500 for a Wood's Forcible Entry Training Door for Station One.

This training door is designed to replicate real-world resistance, allowing our firefighters to practice breaching doors the same way they would on an actual emergency scene.  It creates a safe, controlled environment where we can train harder, move faster, and refin the techniques that directly impact rescue outcomes.

This isn't just about equipment - it's about readiness.

IT's about ensuring that when our crews respond - wher is a fire, a medical emergency, or a rescue situation - they don't lose valuable seconds difuring out ho to get in. They already know.

Why Your Support Matters

Your donation helps us:

  • Realistic, high-quality training for all 34 firefighters
  • Improved speed and coordination during emergency entry
  • Stronger outcomes for the people who depend on us
  • Continued investment in the safety and preparedness of our community

This door will be used again and again - training every firefighter on our department, reinforcing critical skills, and multiplying the impact of every donation over time.

Because when you call us, you're not just relying on our response - you're relying on our preparation.

Every donation brings us closer to our goal.

Every contribution helps us train harder, respond faster, and serve you better.

Our mission is simple: protect our community - no matter the emergency.

Help us continue to do that at the highest level.

Donate today and stand with Hastings Fire & Rescue when it matters most.
