This isn't just a vision anymore—it’s a space our community is already bringing to life.

The Hastings Public Library has always been more than a building—it’s a gathering place, a launchpad for ideas, and a reflection of the people it serves. It's that spirit that is taking root just beyond our walls.

Over the past year, our greenspace at 302 N. Denver Ave. has already begun to bring people together in new and meaningful ways. Families explored and learned at our Pollinator Party, kids embraced creativity (and a little chaos!) at Messtival, and neighbors gathered under the open sky for outdoor movies. These moments aren’t just events—they’re the beginning of something lasting.

This space is quickly becoming what our community makes of it: a place to connect, to celebrate, to create, and to simply be together.

Thanks to the incredible dedication of our Hastings Library Foundation and fundraising chairs, we are closer than ever to making this space a permanent, thoughtfully designed extension of the library. Plans continue to evolve with features like open green space, flexible gathering areas, and artistic elements developed in partnership with Hastings Arts Council—ensuring the space reflects the creativity and character of Hastings itself.

Our project this Give Hastings Day is less about imagining what could be—and more about inviting you to be part of what already is.
