Hike & Bike Trails Fund

The Hike & Bike Trails Fund is held by the Hastings Community Foundation. It supports the Pioneer Spirit Trail, a pedestrian, bike and exercise route in Hastings which connects major recreational centers, schools, and destinations such as Libs Park, Heartwell Park, Lake Hastings, Hastings College and the Downtown Central Business District.  The funds are used to provide trail amenities such as benches, bike repair stations, and drinking fountains.

The trail system in Hastings presently includes more than 12 miles of paved trails. There is an immediate need for additional funding as nearly three miles of new trail will be added in the south part of Hastings in 2026. This will include connections to Carter Park, Lincoln Elementary School, Brickyard Park and the Hastings Middle School.
