YWCA Adams County

YWCA Adams County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

For 110 years, we have strengthened women and families in the area through educational programs, social services, & community events. From our earliest efforts to secure public restrooms for women in Hastings to our recent success at pulling planes, we're a force in the community. 

Current programs include our YWCA School of Dance, our Career Closet for women entering and growing in professional roles, The Zone afterschool program for middle school students, our Teen Outreach Program (TOP) and YW Girls programs to encourage positive relationships, and summer classes for youth enrichment. Our Freezer Meals provide busy families and individuals with easy to prepare and healthy meals while our meals at The Zone address food insecurity. Staff are available to help with job searches and resume development. Through Gowns for Good, we help women of all ages look their sharpest on special days.

Among our new developments: a hygiene closet for personal care items and Grannie's Closet, providing clothing access to women 70 and older.
